About

Wild Lapeer

Wild Lapeer is an event to celebrate Earth Day and local foods started by a group of dedicated volunteers led by Marian Listwak over five years ago. In the beginning the event was held in early April and drew 100-200 people. Now the event attendance has been over 2,000 the last two years and programming is expanding every year to include various aspects of outdoor life in Lapeer while still remembering the event's Earth Day roots.

Wild Lapeer is coordinated by the Lapeer Land Conservancy.

The event is run by an executive committee and many helpful volunteers. The event committee in the past has consisted of:
  • Jim Davis, Lapeer Historical Society
  • Ken Elwert, Director Lapeer County Parks
  • Robin Mallor, volunteer
  • Peter McCreedy, Chatfield School
  • Karen Page, volunteer
  • Kristy Walker, volunteer
  • Dave Wolfenden, American Speedy Printing and Lapeer Rotary Club

This committee for the 2010 event is still forming
